Commemorative t-shirts for the 48th Annual Maple Leaf Festival are now available at the Precious Moments gift shop, 4321 Chapel Rd., Carthage.

The 48th annual Maple Leaf Festival planning committee has selected the winning artwork for the festival. Artists, students and local residents were asked to submit work to represent this year’s theme “Crossroads of America”.
Precious Moments Graphic Artist, Crystal Manning, submitted a design using artwork created by the founder of Precious Moments, Samuel J. Butcher. The winning entry depicts a young man and lady traveling Route 66 through Carthage, set against a background of the Jasper County Courthouse and the State of Missouri.

Planning for the 48th Annual Maple Leaf Festival, hosted by the Carthage Chamber of Commerce, is well underway as the theme for this fall’s event is unveiled. The theme “Crossroads of America” was submitted by Power’s Museum Director Michele Hansford. Michele said “This could fit anything transportation related, highways, crossroads of history, music, community, just about anything”.
