Applications for the 2018 Maple Leaf Parade and entry forms for ALL Maple Leaf Pageants are due TODAY!  Download your application from or visit our office at 4th & Garrison.

Last Day to Get into Maple Leaf Goodie Bags
TODAY is the last day to get your business’s “goodie” into 500 goodie bags to be handed out on the square on Maple Leaf parade day! For only $50 and 500 items, you can get the attention of at least 500 visitors and residents. Goodie bags will be the drawstring backpack kind generously provided by Mother Road Coffee. Items may include logoed goodies, coupons, flyers, etc.  Bring your 500 goodies to Mary Jo at the Chamber office TODAY to participate.

Increasing Profitability through Data Analysis Using BizMiner - Small Business Technology and Development Center Lunch & Learn

BizMiner is an analytical database that provides industry financial reports for over 30,000 banking professionals; hundreds of accounting, valuation and consulting firms; and universities. The database provides industry financial ratios, detailed balance sheet and profit and loss data, and industry statistics. Participants will learn how to use a BizMiner report and how to compare industry data to their own business. Participants will also learn the importance of financial benchmarks and why existing companies, as well as startups, should incorporate benchmarks for their business. The Joplin Globe will be starting a weekly “Tiger Tuesday” page October 2018. The piece will be on 2 full pages and in full color and will include weekly Chamber Events and local “Carthage Only” information & photos (see attached example.) Chamber members can advertise their businesses on the “Tiger Tuesday” page for only $20 weekly with a 52-week commitment. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Altice USA, the parent company of Suddenlink, is proud to once again bring the Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest to high school and middle school students throughout the Suddenlink service areas. 
To participate, eligible students are invited to submit an essay about a Latino, past or present, with whom they would like to spend a day. Essays must be written in English and received by October 31, 2018. Winners will be announced in early December.   Prizes include a $1,500 cash scholarship and iPad minis.
