Do you have a heart for teachers? Looking for a way to show your support? Carthage Bright Futures is kicking off a pilot program called "Class Champions", which will pair a volunteer with a specific Columbian Elementary teacher for the 2018-19 school year. The volunteer will get to know the teacher and students, giving a helping hand or supplying a backup snack or just dropping off a Sonic surprise for the teacher. The investment of time and resources will be minimal, but volunteers should plan for some involvement AT LEAST every 9 weeks (once per school quarter). If this sounds like the project you've been looking for, contact Kim Hoover 417-758-0899 and plan to attend the orientation meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26. Groups are also welcome!
