Member News


Mercy Health Foundation’s Women with a Mission giving society will present an annual grant totaling $65,000 to the hospital’s Breast Center on Monday, May 20 at 1:30 at Mercy Hospital Joplin.


Workforce Investment Board of SW MO is seeking employers for their Open-Air Job Fair on May 23 at Joplin Memorial Hall.  Free to employers and job seekers. For info, call 417‑540‑2765. 


Carthage Paddle Battle is still seeking teams from local businesses and organizations to build and race homemade rafts July 19 & 20 at Kellogg Lake. Deadline for sponsor teams to be listed on the t-shirt is May 31st. To register go to For info, call 417-483-1614. 


Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre needs volunteers to help in the kitchen and dining room during their shows.  Volunteers get dinner and the show they work for free! For info, call 417-358-4300. 


Freeman Health System has been awarded the Missouri Gold Level Workplace Wellness Award. The Missouri Workplace Wellness Award is a collaboration between the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition (MOCAN) and the University of Missouri Extension. The program increases awareness about the importance of worksite wellness for employees. The program also recognizes employers with policies supportive of employee health and wellness.
