“Magic under the Maples”
Tuesday, September 25
12:30-10:30 p.m. (see times below)
Carthage Senior Center, 404 E. 3rd
Carthage Emerging Leaders (CELs) will be partnering with the Carthage Senior Center to host an evening of music and revelry for Carthage area senior citizens.
Contact Mary Jo to sign up for one or more times:
     12:30-1:30 p.m. setup
     7-10 p.m. greeting, mingling, hosting event
     10-10:30 p.m. cleanup
Whether you have 30 minutes, an hour, or the entire afternoon and evening, whatever time you can give would be welcome.  Families and kids are welcome! 
Admission for the evening will be $5 (cash only), paid at the door.  All proceeds go toward the Center’s event-related expenses.  Guests are welcome to bring snacks and goodies to share.

Increasing Profitability through Data Analysis Using BizMiner - Small Business Technology and Development Center Lunch & Learn
Wednesday, October 3
11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Lunch & Learn cost will be $12* for Carthage Chamber members, $15 for non-members.
BizMiner is an analytical database that provides industry financial reports for over 30,000 banking professionals; hundreds of accounting, valuation and consulting firms; and universities. The database provides industry financial ratios, detailed balance sheet and profit and loss data, and industry statistics. Participants will learn how to use a BizMiner report and how to compare industry data to their own business. Participants will also learn the importance of financial benchmarks and why existing companies, as well as startups, should incorporate benchmarks for their business. Finally, participants will learn how BizMiner sorts and compiles financial data into these industry reports. The Joplin Globe will be starting a weekly “Tiger Tuesday” page October 2018. The piece will be on 2 full pages and in full color and will include weekly Chamber Events and local “Carthage Only” information & photos (see attached example.) The Harry S Truman Coordinating Council requests your assistance with a survey to capture data and opinions regarding economic development and growth in our four-county region. Data will be analyzed and used to update the current "Community Economic Development Strategy" (CEDS). The CEDS is a plan for economic growth, sustainability and resiliency.
